Step-by-Step Dental Implants Training

Step-by-Step Dental Implants Training

About the Dental Implants Course

Patient quality of life is negatively impacted by the common problems of failing dentition and edentulism. Accurately identifying and treatment planning these issues is essential for long-term patient comfort, health and happiness. Dental implant therapy has proven to be a superior method with better treatment results as compared to removable prostheses or fixed bridges.

The High Tech Dental Seminars lecture series is designed to provide comprehensive dental implants training, covering every aspect of implant therapy—from selecting the right implant to patient follow-up. Our goal is to equip you with the confidence to successfully restore implants in your practice, expand your skills immediately, and enhance patient satisfaction. This course integrates the latest technology, leading peer-reviewed research, and over 30 years of combined hands-on experience to deliver exceptional training.

Course Overview

This step-by-step dental implants training course comprises six modules of didactic and clinical hands-on instruction. It is structured for all participants to learn the fundamental knowledge of implants and to gain an advanced hands-on training utilizing mannequins, which will be used to simulate the real patient experience. After becoming more comfortable in the simulated environment dentists will enrich their knowledge by observing live surgical procedures. Following which each participant will be provided the opportunity to perform dental implants on three patients which will be provided by High Tech Dental Seminars. Participants are welcome to also bring their own patients.

The course includes training in both digital and conventional implant placement. Participants will experience both surgical and restorative procedures, utilizing both digital and conventional methodologies to ensure a comprehensive dental implants training experience.

Successful completion of this course will give participants all required CE points to meet the RCDSO requirements for placing and restoring implants.

This course is intended for dentists who have never placed implants, who would like to gain more hands on knowledge of implants, and those who would like to learn more about digital workflow with implant placement and restoration. This course will be offered at Dentsply Sirona Academy which is a state of the art facility that will provide participants with a variety of highly technical modalities that range from the use of the computer guided units utilizing mannequins to live video camera feeds of surgeries.

Participants will experience didactic lectures that have been paired with hands-on workshops in order to solidify the theory learned. Throughout the course, participants will be planning, treating, and restoring dental implant cases under supervision.

To cultivate individual learning and satisfaction, the participant will have ownership over three individual cases to treatment plan. Therefore, by the end of the course, after having placed and restored a minimum of three implants, the participant will have acquired a solid foundation to immediately implement this practice in their own clinics.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am brand new to implant dentistry and have yet to place any implants in my career. Is your course suited for me?

Yes, this course is specifically designed for dentists who have never placed implants and are eager to gain hands-on knowledge and experience in implant dentistry. It is also suitable for those interested in learning about the digital workflow with implant placement and restoration.

The course is conducted in person and resembles a mini-residency program that spans over 9 months starting from Dec 13, 2024 The full schedule is available on our website.

Absolutely, each student will have the opportunity to work on 3 patient cases provided by us, in addition to assisting other students. This distinctive aspect makes us the first dental implants course in Canada to offer such hands-on experience. There are no hidden fees; the patient cases and assistance during surgeries are all included in the course fee.

Unlike cherry-picking simple cases, our focus is on exposing our students to real-life situations, including more complex cases. This exposure not only helps build confidence but also ensures comprehensive learning and preparation for a variety of scenarios.

While we don’t offer accommodation ourselves, we can gladly recommend nearby hotels to facilitate your stay during the course.

We use the Astra and MIS implant systems, but the focus of the course is on teaching attendees how to plan and document cases, perform CBCT scanning, and plan both prosthetically driven and conventional implant placements. We emphasize the concept and principles, allowing you the freedom to choose any implant system you prefer.

Yes, the course is AGD approved, and participants will earn 140 CE points, fulfilling the requirements with RCDSO of Ontario. This recognition sets our course apart and exceeds the credentials offered by most other dental courses.
